International Centre for the Study of the Profession of Arms (ICSPA)
ICSPA was created in April 2017 at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean. It brings together researchers from research centres in Québec, Canada and abroad whose work focuses on one of the Centre’s mandates. It aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge about the profession of arms for the benefit of the Canadian Armed Forces and its partners on the international scene.
ICSPA currently has four main mandates.
- Support research in the field of military ethics, leadership, military sociology and military pedagogy (research).
- Support the organization of events aimed at disseminating knowledge in these areas (dissemination).
- Contribute to the transfer of this knowledge in the context of training courses (training).
- Develop and maintain a network of research centres and actors on the subject of the profession of arms (networking).
